Abstractions Over Abstractions

I first downloaded Daedalus a couple of days ago. I immediately liked the concept and execution despite having some complaints about minor glitches.

What I find particularly amusing is how Daedalus takes the concept of files and folders and puts an abstraction of paper stacks and sheets on top of it.

This works pretty well. Mainly because creating another paper stack and manipulating sheets of 'paper' inside it carries far less friction than creating a folder and files on a file system. Of course, good part of that more natural and frictionless experience should be credited to the good execution and well thought UI and UX.

The amusing part? Well, it's fun to think how directories and files were first invented as abstractions of real-life sheets of paper stuffed in folders.

The wheel has spun a full circle. We're back where we were in early 60s :)
