9to5mac has an amazing post (yes, it's the same ol' Path-iOS-Apple-Congress-Whatever theme).
I started playing with iOS development quite soon (like a month ago). Coming from the world of Android with its extensive permissions scheme (which is not perfect, more on that in a second), I just cannot believe iOS allows the things it does.
Maybe Apple relied too much on its review process... I don't know and I am sure we will hear more on the topic in the near future.
Android's permissions are ugly. And they don't really work. I mean, they work technically but let's be honest: most of the people do not even read the permissions list. They just ignore it and proceed to install whatever super-duper app they want to try out (we cannot really live without that Super-Sexy-Asian-Girl Live Wallpaper... Full Internet Access? Read Phone State and Identity? No problem, go on...).
But while it is not perfect, at least Android's permissions scheme exists. So if you are like me and pay attention to these things, you have a choice.
